Race classifications
To find out which breed a dog or cat belongs to, a genetic breed classification can be helpful. When assigning breeds, the DNA profile data is compared with the reference data of the breeds in our database . If the animal itself is purebred or at least one of the two parents is purebred, we can prove the assignment to the respective breed by molecular biology and present it in the form of a percentage value. However, only breeds that are available in our database can be entered. If the respective breed is not available in our database, we cannot specify a breed even for purebred dogs. The same applies to dogs that have been crossed with several breeds and do not have a purebred parent. In our calculations, we only obtain relatively low allocation values of less than 30% for these animals, which unfortunately does not represent a meaningful result. You can find an overview of the breeds included on the respective detail page for dogs or cats. However, we will also be happy to advise you by telephone and discuss the optimum procedure for your specific case.
