Curly/Woolly (LPAR6)
General description
The Cornish Rex’s soft coat, which features washboard-like waves (known as “Marcel waves”) and lies close to the body, is caused by a mutation in the LPAR6 gene (formerly also known as the P2RY5 gene). This mutation also occurs in the German Rex and is inherited recessively. This means that offspring will have the corresponding hair structure only if it is inherited from both parents.
Breeds
Cornish Rex, German Rex
