Detailed description
Raine syndrome is described as an inherited disease with recessive trait in Border Collies. The disease is characterized by symptoms similar to those found in craniomadibular osteopathy (CMO). Affected dogs exhibit severe tooth wear resulting in pulpitis and the removal of most teeth. These symptoms result by hypomineralization of the teeth and weakened enamel. Skeletal bones can also be found to be less mineralized in these dogs.
