Detailed description
Affected puppies have unusual coat (rough and curly) and symptoms of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (inflammation of the conjunctiva/cornea due to lack of tear fluid). Moreover, affected puppies also appear smaller than their littermates. Hair loss and rough coat lead to frequent scratching. Changes to the pad skin and claws cause pain and lameness. The teeth are also affected.
