Detailed description
In TNS affected dogs, neutrophils are produced by the bone marrow, but lack the ability to reach the blood stream. Therefore, affected puppies posses a weak immune system and are not able to fight pathogens effectively. The variable symptoms observed depend on the respective infection. Equally, starting point and severity of the TNS-disease vary, with most of the dogs dying before the fifth month of their live. In rare cases, dogs can live a normal life due to antibiotic- and steroid-therapies.
