Cerebral dysfunction (CDFS)
Cerebral dysfunction (CDFS)
General description
A genetic mutation causes a structural change of transporter systems for neurotransmitters affecting several processes in the central nervous system. Affected animals show a large variety of neuronal symptoms such as depressed behaviour, walking circles, obsessive sniffing and running backwards.

Detailed description
The cerebral dysfunction in Friesian Stabijhoun is an inherited disease of the brain. A genetic mutation causes a structural change of transporter systems for neurotransmitters. Due to this malfunction, several processes in the central nervous-system are impaired. Clinically affected animals exhibit a large variety of neuronal symptoms such as depressed behaviour, walking circles, obsessive sniffing and running backwards.
