Il existe deux vari\u00e9t\u00e9s d’alpaga : la Huacaya, \u00e0 la toison dense et fris\u00e9e, et la Suri, aux fibres lisses et brillantes. La vari\u00e9t\u00e9 Suri est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une moindre tol\u00e9rance au froid et \u00e0 une forme physique potentiellement r\u00e9duite. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que l’h\u00e9r\u00e9dit\u00e9 de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 Suri est autosomique dominante et que les animaux homozygotes ont peu de chances d’\u00eatre viables, l’accouplement de deux alpagas Suri doit \u00eatre \u00e9vit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>

Il existe deux vari\u00e9t\u00e9s d’alpagas avec des structures de toison diff\u00e9rentes : le Huacaya et le Suri.<\/p>\n

La laine Huacaya, plus courante, est compacte, douce et tr\u00e8s fris\u00e9e. Quant \u00e0 la laine Suri, celle-ci se caract\u00e9rise par des fibres lisses et brillantes, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement fris\u00e9es.
Le ph\u00e9notype Suri a \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 une tol\u00e9rance r\u00e9duite au froid et \u00e0 une capacit\u00e9 d’adaptation potentiellement r\u00e9duite.<\/p>\n

Le ph\u00e9notype Suri est h\u00e9rit\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re autosomique dominante, et la variante est tr\u00e8s probablement non viable au stade embryonnaire (l\u00e9tale) si elle est homozygote.
