The breeds Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Dachshunds exhibit an early-onset form of this disease and therefore greater cardiac morbidity and mortality compared to other breeds. A variant in the NEBL-gene is associated with an increased risk of developing this early-onset form. Dogs homozygous for the risk factor are more likely to be diagnosed with MMVD in early life compared to heterozygous dogs.
</details>

["post-273170","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
