General description<\/strong><\/h4>

Becker muscular dystrophy is a form of feline X-linked muscular dystrophy (FXMD). It is characterized by generalized muscle enlargement (muscle hypertrophy), an enlarged tongue (macroglossia), and the tongue protruding from the mouth. In addition, abnormalities in gait and difficulty breathing may occur. The blood test reveals a significantly elevated level of creatine kinase (CK). The first symptoms appear in adulthood and progress only slowly. <\/span><\/p>
