General description<\/strong><\/h4>

The test for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the toe enables an assessment of the individual risk of developing acral squamous cell carcinoma in black giant schnauzers and black poodles. A structural change, a so-called copy number variation, in the c-KIT ligand gene (KITLG) is being investigated. An increased number of copies of the KITLG gene correlates an increased risk of SCC.<\/p>
