The persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PMDS) is characterised by an incomplete regression of the Mullerian duct during sex- differentiation in the male dog. Therefore, underdeveloped female internal genitals like the uterus can be found in affected dogs. Further symptoms include undescended testes, infertility and sometimes tumors.<\/p>

The persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PMDS) is caused by a Mutation in the MISRII-gene. Due to an incomplete regression of the Mullerian duct during sex- differentiation in the male dog, underdeveloped female internal genitals like the uterus can be found in affected dogs. Further symptoms include undescended testes, infertility and sometimes tumors.
